BTW - Happy Birthday to ME!

Ding Ding Ding We Have a Winner!

I had off work for the last couple of days so I decided to work on my New Year's Resolution. A few people at work go to this place right by the Med Center called Downstreet Salon and they recommended it to me. Today I had an appointment with Natasha. I was excited but nervous, I was hoping she could fix my hair from my previous botched highlight job. The moment you step foot in the salon you already get a good vibe. It's retro, cool furniture, tons of staff, I could tell right away that everyone knew what they were doing plus all of their hair styles were awesome. Natasha and I settled on my new haircolor/highlights (and yes she used toner at the end to settle the highlight color down). At first I wasn't even going to have her cut my hair, but she convinced me to go with a few more layers and then I added in some ideas and before I knew it my hair was much shorter in the back, angled on the sides, and poof! I had a style. Here are the results:

Thanks Jodie for the suggestion!

He does have a sweet side

So I kinda have to brag a little in this post. As most of you know Shawn is very blunt and sarcastic, and most people don't really see his sweet side, and seeing is believin'. I have a stuffed animal that I've have since I was born, Cow, and Shawn hasn't exactly been nice to Cow over the years. I can't tell you how many times I've found Cow at the bottom of the stairs after Shawn spiked her or had to save Cow from suffocation after Shawn tied the mini-blind string around her neck. I know, it's sick. Sooooo, I get home from work on Tuesday, eat dinner with my mom, then have to get ready for puppy class around 7pm. I go upstairs only to find the bed MADE and Cow sitting nicely on my pillow with a little gift-wrapped box on her lap. Now, we don't celebrate V-day (or as Shawn likes to call it VD-day), but it was an early B-day gift. He did good!

Don't mind that the gift is already open, I re-created the scene.

Cole weighs 40 pounds! (but that was before his balls were cut out)

Cole just turned four months old yesterday. Unfortunately he got his balls cut out for the occasion. Yes, now instead of a male dog he is considered a neutered male. Poor puppy. He took the surgery very well. I expected him to be drowsy, sleepy and wearing a big cone around his head when he came home, but he was none of that. Since we didn't take him on his am or pm walk, he was bouncing off the walls.

Here are a few pictures we took from the weekend:

They're finished!

The stools are finished! It's so nice to sit at the island. Now we can eat here too which is cool because it's just the two of us. Here they are:

My hot new whip

Beep, Beep! So we didn't plan on buying a new car last week, but we had no choice. Shawn's truck was acting up and as it turns out the transmission needed to be replaced. We knew it was going to be expensive to replace (probably more than the trunk was worth) so we went car shopping. We didn't have to look very hard since we bought the car at the first place we went to. The Hershey Med center offers a bunch of discounts to their employees and one of the discounts was at Faulkner Toyota. It worked out perfectly because we wanted a Toyota Corolla, a reliable and fuel efficient car. The woman was trying really hard to sell us a brand new 2009 Corolla sport, and as much as I really wanted that car, it just wasn't what we needed. We settled on a 2008 Corolla with very low mileage and with my discount we ended up with a pretty sweet deal.

Long time, no blog

Ahhhh, it's been forever since I blogged. Shawn and I have been very busy. In the past few weeks we started puppy kindergarten with Cole, bought a new car, and filling our time with plenty of other stuff. Cole is getting so big, his coat changes almost daily it seems. He's starting to grow light tan hair on his sides and now he looks more like a miniature German Shepherd than a puppy.

Here are a couple of older pictures I didn't post:
